Symbology and Size Property Page |
The Symbology and Size property page, located on the Barcode Properties dialog, enables you to specify exactly how you want a barcode to display on your template. The available options define the size, color, and symbology specifications for a number of supported barcode standards. It also contains a dynamic area, called Symbology Specific Options, which displays different options depending on the symbology you select.
|
If you select a group containing barcodes of different symbologies, the Symbology Specific Options section will be empty. |
The following options are available:
Symbology: Specifies the encoding scheme used to convert character data into the pattern of wide and narrow bars and spaces in a barcode. For more information, refer to
Color: Specifies the color of the bars in the selected barcode. For more information, refer to Changing an Object's Color.
Print Method: Opens the Print Method Options dialog, where you can specify how barcodes will be printed on thermal printers.
Dimensions
The following options are available for most symbologies. If the option is disabled, then the selected symbology does not support the sizing option.
X Dimension: Specifies the width of the narrowest unit in a barcode; usually, this is the width of the narrowest bar or space.
Opens the Barcode X Dimension dialog, where you can find the advanced X dimension settings.
Ratio: Specifies the wide-to-narrow element ratio of the barcode.
Density: Specifies the width of the bars and spaces in the selected barcode.
Height: Specifies the height of the selected barcode.

Barcode symbologies have defined specifications. If your input contains excessive, insufficient, or invalid characters, the barcode will show a red 'x', and a description of the error type will display when you place the mouse over the barcode. For more information, refer to Barcode Validation. |
The information displayed in this area of the dialog will vary depending on which symbology has been selected.
