A Data Matrix symbol is made up of columns and rows wherein data is stored. Most of these barcodes will contain an equal number of columns and rows. However, symbol type ECC 200 allows for some barcodes to have more columns than rows.
As a variant of the Data Matrix symbology, 2D-Pharmacode supports the same sizing options.
In addition to a list of preset dimensions, the Size option contains auto generated settings for specifying whether or not a barcode will have an equal number columns and rows:
Auto-Square: Draws the symbol with an equal number of columns and rows.
Auto-Rectangle: Draws the symbol with more columns than rows. To use this setting, the amount of data must be small. If the input data is larger than will fit into allowed rectangle sizes, the symbol will be printed as a square.
