The HIBC (Health Industry Bar Code) standard was developed specifically for the healthcare industry to fulfill unique safety requirements for the labeling of medical products, such as medical devices, that are not typically found in commercial retail settings. All items shipped to hospitals are required to have an HIBC label.

Supported Symbologies

This option is available for the following symbologies:

• 2D-Pharmacode (as an option for the Prefix property)

• Aztec Code

• Circular Code 128

• Code 128

• Data Matrix (as an option for the Prefix property)

• QR Code (as an option for the Start Mode property)
