Database Field |
The Database Field data source type is used to read data from a wide variety of external sources, including databases, delimited text files, spreadsheets, and ODBC or OLE DB sources. Using this data source type allows you to print multiple items with different data on each item, based on the records in a database.
Because such data is usually different for every item, you can view each item as it will print using the live data navigator, located below the template in the main user interface. Additionally, you can view the data contained in your database using the Browse tab of the Database Connection Setup dialog.
In addition to the Name and Type options (refer to Data Source tab), when Database Field is selected as the data source type, the following additional options are available:
Field Name. Specifies the field from your database that will replace the sample data for the currently specified data source.
Sample Data. Specifies the data that will be displayed on the template in the event that
Database Connection Setup. Opens the Database Connection Setup dialog, which allows you to configure
