Text Label Property Page |
|
The Text Label property page is supported by various data entry controls on the data entry form, as well as by the form Text object (where it is called Text property page). |
The Text Label property page enables you to define the dimensions, alignment, reading order, and content of a control's label and associated text object.
The following options are available:
Show Text Label: Specifies whether a control's label is visible on the data entry form. This property must be enabled to customize the label for a data entry control. Available only for specific controls that include a label.
Properties
Type: Specifies whether the label or text object is formatted as a single line or paragraph of text.
Text: Specifies the content of the label or text object. Enter the text that you want into this field.
Linked Control: Specifies the related reply control of the text object, if applicable. The control specified here will be grouped together with the selected text object.
Placement: When linked to a reply control, specifies the position of the text object relative to the linked control.
Paragraph Width: When Type is set to Paragraph, specifies the horizontal dimension of the label or text object in the specified unit of measurement.
Alignment: Defines the text alignment of the control label or text object. Select Auto to use the alignment specified by the Reading Order setting. Available for "paragraph" type control labels and for text objects linked to a reply control.
Reading Order: Sets the reading order for the control label or text object. When customizing a control label, the reading order also specifies the position of the text box (left or right) relative to the actual control. Choose Auto to use the reading order set on the Form property page.

When text wraps from one line to the next, this is known as a "line break". In Western languages, line breaks may be performed at a space character, or after a punctuation mark. However, languages such as Chinese, Japanese, and Korean have different line breaking rules. For paragraph text to use the correct line breaking rules, you must select the correct Script on the Advanced tab of the Font property page. |
