Position Property Page |
|
The Position property page is accessible from both the Object Properties dialog and the Control Properties dialog. For simplicity, the following content refers to objects but applies to controls as well. |
The Position property page enables you to view and specify exact coordinates for the position of the selected object and prevents the object from being moved on the template.
Lock Object: When enabled, prevents users from moving, resizing, or rotating the selected object.
Position

This value will be negative in the following cases:

If the template reference point is Top Center, Center, or Bottom Center, and the object's reference point is left of the template reference point.
If the template reference point is Top Right, Center Right, or Bottom Right, and the object's reference point is right of the template reference point.
This value will be positive in the following cases:
If the template reference point is Top Left, Center Left, or Bottom Left, and the object's reference point is right of the template reference point.
If the template reference point is Top Center, Center, or Bottom Center, and the object's reference point is right of the template reference point.
If the template reference point is Top Right, Center Right, or Bottom Right, and the object's reference point is left of the template reference point.

If the template reference point is Top Left, Top Center, or Top Right, and the object's reference point is higher than the template reference point.
If the template reference point is Center Left, Center, or Center Right, and the object's reference point is higher than the template reference point.
If the template reference point is Bottom Left, Bottom Center, or Bottom Right, and the object's reference point is lower than the template reference point.
This value will be positive in the following cases:
If the template reference point is Top Left, Top Center, or Top Right, and the object's reference point is lower than the template reference point.
If the template reference point is Center Left, Center, or Center Right, and the object's reference point is lower than the template reference point.
If the template reference point is Bottom Left, Bottom Center, or Bottom Right, and the object's reference point is higher than the template reference point.
Object Reference Point: Defines the object's reference point relative to the selected object.
Advanced: Opens the Advanced Position Settings dialog, where you can select the template reference point.
Rotation
Angle: Specifies the degrees by which the object should be rotated around the rotation point. For all objects except barcodes, you can select a commonly used degree from the dropdown list (or specify the rotation angle to a tenth of a degree). For barcodes, the selection is limited to 90, 180, or 270 degrees. Not available for data entry controls or text objects (other than word processor text objects) on the data entry form.
|
Objects can also be rotated by using the Rotate dialog, which is accessible via the Arrange menu. |
Layer
