Managing Encryption |
You can manage your encryption keys and assign encryption keys to documents using the Encryption page and the BarTender Document Encryptor dialog. Depending on your needs, you can create multiple encryption keys, delete encryption keys, assign encryption keys to existing documents and specify an encryption key for any new documents, and also decrypt previously encrypted documents.
You can easily create your own encryption key on the Encryption page and, depending on your needs, you may even create multiple encryption keys.
Assigning Encryption Keys to Documents
Once you have created an encryption key, you can specify that all new documents are automatically encrypted with that key. You can also encrypt previously saved BarTender documents to an encryption key that you specify. Should it become necessary, you can change an encryption key for any specified document.
Removing Encryption from a Document
If desired, you can decrypt any previously encrypted document, removing its need for an encryption key.
Once you have changed documents to a different encryption key, or removed their encryption, you may want to delete the original encryption key. However, deleting encryption keys should be done with caution. If you delete a key that is currently being used to encrypt a document, you will no longer be able to open or print that document.
