Removing Encryption from a Document

You can remove encryption from a previously encrypted document using the BarTender Document Encryptor dialog.

ClosedTo remove encryption from a document

  1. In Administration Console's left Navigation Pane, click Security and expand the node.

  2. Under Security, click Encryption to open the Encryption page.

  3. At the bottom of the Encryption page, click the Document Encryptor link to open the BarTender Document Encryptor dialog.

  4. Click the Add button to open Windows Explorer.

  5. Browse to and select the desired document(s) and click Open to add the document(s) to the dialog. Once in the dialog, the current encryption key for each document is displayed.

  6. If desired, you can subsequently remove a document from the dialog by selecting the document and clicking the Remove button.

  7. In the BarTender Documents pane, select the document(s) that you no longer want encrypted.

    To select multiple documents, hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard while clicking on the desired documents. Alternatively, if you want to select all the documents in the BarTender Documents pane, click the Select All button.

  8. Select <None> from the New Key dropdown list.

  9. Click Encrypt Selected Documents Using New Key.

  10. Click Close to close the BarTender Document Encryptor.

To stop automatic encryption of documents, deselect the option Encrypt documents when saving on the Encryption page. Subsequently, no additional documents will be encrypted, any documents previously encrypted will have encryption removed the next time you save the document in BarTender.
