Comments are descriptions, explanations, or other content that a user adds to a file. For example, if a file is deleted, you might want a comment to explain why, or if a file is modified, you might want a description of the edits that were made.
You can use the System Setup dialog to require that comments are added when a file is checked in.
By adding a comment to the file, you can let other users who access the file know exactly what changes were made. You can add a new comment to the current revision of a file or to earlier revisions. You can also edit existing comments.
Comments that are added to a file are stored as new Add Comment actions in a revision.
To add a new comment to a file

In the Folders pane, browse to the folder in the Library directory that contains the file that you want. If the file is checked out to you or is waiting for your approval, click the Checked Out to Me or Waiting for My Approval directory to find the file.

In the Files pane, select the file that you want.

Open the Add Comment dialog by using one of the following methods:

Right-click the file, and then click Add Comment.

On the File menu, click Add Comment.

In the Add Comment dialog, enter your comments in the Comment text box.

Click OK. Your comment is added to the most recent revision of your file as a new Add Comment action.
To add a comment to a past revision of a file

In the Folders pane, browse to the folder in the Library directory that contains the file that you want. If the file is checked out to you or is waiting for your approval, click the Checked Out to Me or Waiting for My Approval directory to find the file.

In the Files pane, select the file that you want.

In the File History pane, right-click the revision that you want, and then click Add Comment.

In the Add Comment dialog, enter your comments in the Comment text box.

Click OK. Your comment is added to the selected revision of your file as a new Add Comment action.
To edit an existing comment

In the Folders pane, browse to the folder in the Library directory that contains the file that you want. If the file is checked out to you or is waiting for your approval, click the Checked Out to Me or Waiting for My Approval directory to find the file.

In the Files pane, select the file that you want.

In the File History pane, select the comment that you want to edit.

Right-click the selected comment, and then click Edit Comment.

In the Edit Comment dialog, update the comment in the Comment text box.

Click OK. The old comment is overwritten with the new one that you entered.
