At times, you may want to resize the objects on the template. Although there are several different types of objects that you can place on a template, the basic process of increasing or decreasing the size of each object is the same. The easiest way to resize an object is by using your mouse.

To resize an object by using your mouse

You can also resize an object by using the Object Properties dialog for the selected object. The following list directs you to the property pages that you can use to resize different objects on your template.

• Barcode Object: You can use the Symbology and Size property page to modify the height, X dimension, and density of a barcode.

• Text Object: The property page that you can use to resize a text object depends on the type of text object that you select. For more information, refer to Types of Text Objects.

  • Normal: For normal text objects, the size of the text object is determined by the point size that is set on the Font property page or by the dimensions that are set on the Auto Fit property page.

  • Normal Wrapped: For normal wrapped (paragraph) text objects, the size of the text object is determined by the point size that is set on the Font property page or by the dimensions that are set on the Auto Fit property page. You can also modify the height by using the Layout tab on the Text Format property page and the width by using the Wrap tab of the Text Format property page.

  • Word Processor: For word processor text objects, the size of the text object is determined by size and scaling settings on the Word Processor property page.

  • Symbol Font Character: Symbol font character text objects are sized by settings on the same properties pages as the normal or normal wrapped text objects, depending on whether Wrap to fit width is selected on the Wrap tab of the Text Format property page.

    • When Wrap to fit width is not selected, the size of the text object is determined in the same manner as a normal text object.

    • When Wrap to fit width is selected, the size of the text object is determined in the same manner as a normal wrapped text object.

  • Transformed Text Objects: Transformed text objects, with the exception of the arc transform, are sized by settings on the same properties pages as the normal or normal wrapped text objects, depending on whether Wrap to fit width is selected on the Wrap tab of the Text Format property page.

    • When Wrap to fit width is not selected, the size of the text object is determined in the same manner as a normal text object.

    • When Wrap to fit width is selected, the size of the text object is determined in the same manner as a normal wrapped text object.

  • Arc: For text objects with an arc transform, the height and width of the object are determined by the point size that you specify on the Font property page, combined with the Radius value that you specify on the Arc tab of the Text Format property page. Alternatively, you can set the object dimensions on the Auto Fit property page and, when Wrap to Fit is selected on the Arc tab of the Text Format property page, you can modify the height of the arc text object by using the Layout tab.

  • Markup Language Container text objects: For RTF, HTML, and XAML text objects, the size of the text object is determined by size and scaling settings on the Markup Language property page.

• Line Object: You can use the Line property page to modify the length and thickness of the selected line object.

• Shape Object: You can use the Shape property page to modify the width and height of the selected shape.

• Picture Object: You can use the Size property page to modify the width and height of the selected picture.
