Security Property Page |
The Security property page is located on the Encoder Properties dialog for RFID tags that support security features, such as locking the tags after encoding. While these access control settings are supported on a global basis by the printer driver's RFID Options page, the Security property page enables you to specify different passwords for each document, or even for each database record.
Use driver's settings: When enabled, specifies that the global access control settings defined by the printer driver will be used for the tag.
Specify security settings for this document: When enabled, allows you to specify the access control settings for the tag, overriding any settings selected in the print driver's Properties dialog. Passwords for the various memory blocks can use data from a constant data source (per document), database fields (per record), or named data sources.
|
Only the passwords being used can vary per database record. The blocks that are being manipulated (locked, unlocked, etc.) cannot change per record. For example, if you set EPC Block to Lock, it will then attempt to lock each time, but the password used for the lock can be pulled per-record from a database source. |
Access Control
The access control settings available on the Security property page depend on the RFID tag you have selected.
