When you use a in BarTender, you can add elements such as a header, footer, or watermark to your items or create complex designs such as packing slips, invoices, or pallet labels.
The objects on your page template can include information about your print job each time you print your . For example, you might want to add information to the footer of your printed pages, such as "Page 1 of 4, Labels 1-9." You can do this by creating a page template that includes a text object that has the Print Job Field type.

Although there are no visible margins to the page template, most laser and other "page" printers cannot print within a certain narrow zone around the perimeter of a page. This "" varies from printer to printer. For example, Hewlett-Packard compatible laser printers cannot print closer than about 0.2 inches to the edges of the page.
It is important that you understand the capabilities of your printer when you position your page template elements. For more information, refer to Show Unprintable Region.

To enable a page template

On the File menu, click Page Setup to open the Page Setup dialog. Alternatively, click the icon on the main toolbar, or double-click a blank area of the .

Click the Page tab.

Click to select the Enable Page Template check box.

Click OK to close the Page Setup dialog. A Page Template tab is added to the bottom of the design area alongside your existing template tabs and tabs.
Click the Page Template tab to view the page template in the design area. The template page size is equivalent to the actual page size. There are no visible boundaries or margins, and the label outlines are visible. If you are designing double-sided items, you see two Page Template tabs, one for each side of your item.
To copy a page template to another document

On the of the Page Template tab, click Copy to copy the page template to the Windows Clipboard.

Open the document into which you want to place the page template.

Use the secondary mouse button to click anywhere in the tab area below the design area, and then click Paste.
