Show Unprintable Region |
Most laser and other "page" printers have a certain region around the perimeter of the page within which they cannot print. On laser printers, such as those in the HP LaserJet series, the unprintable region is generally within about a .200" margin around the perimeter of the page. In order to be certain that all of the objects on your templates are printed in entirety on every item on the page, you need to position objects with this unprintable region in mind.
Keep in mind that the "unprintable" area shown by the dashed line represents a "worst case" scenario. Only in the event that your item is the size of a full page will all four sides of the dashed area apply to all of your items. In the more common situation where you have multiple items per page, the top row of items on the page will be subject to the unprintable region shown on the screen at the top of the template, the left column of items will be subject to the unprintable region shown on the screen at the left side of the template, etc. In other words, only those items that have an edge against the edge of the page will be affected, and then it is only that edge of the item that will be affected.
