Symbology and Size Property Page |
Use the Symbology and Size property page, which is located in the Barcode Properties dialog, to specify exactly how you want a barcode to be displayed on your template. The available options define the size, color, and symbology specifications for a number of supported barcode standards. The property page also includes a dynamic area, called Symbology Specific Options, that displays different options depending on the symbology that you select.

The following options are available:
Symbology: Specifies the encoding scheme that is used to convert character data into the pattern of bars and spaces or dark and light squares in a barcode. For more information, refer to
Color: Specifies the color of the bars in the selected barcode. For more information, refer to Changing an Object's Color.
Print Method: Opens the Print Method Options dialog, where you can specify how your barcodes are printed on thermal printers.
Dimensions
The following sizing options are available for most symbologies. If the sizing option is unavailable, the selected symbology does not support that option.
X Dimension: Specifies the width of the narrowest unit in a barcode. Usually, this is the width of the narrowest bar or space.
Opens the Barcode X Dimension dialog, where you can find the advanced X dimension settings.
Ratio: Specifies the wide-to-narrow element ratio of the barcode.
Density: Specifies the width of the bars and spaces in the selected barcode.
Height: Specifies the height of the selected barcode.

Barcode symbologies have defined specifications. If your input contains excessive, insufficient, or invalid characters, the barcode displays a red X, and a description of the error type is displayed when you point to the barcode. For more information, refer to Barcode Validation. |
