Type

A symbology type affects the structure of a barcode symbol. Depending on the symbology, the selected type may define and affect the finder pattern, the number of data layers, the accepted character input, and/or the symbol position.

ClosedAztec Code

The Aztec Code symbology type affects its finder pattern, data layers, and data values. The following options are available:

ClosedGS1 Composite

The GS1 Composite symbology type affects the symbologies that are used and their position. The following options are available:

BarTender automatically selects either CC-A or CC-B depending on the size of the data. This choice is not user-selectable.

ClosedPZN

The PZN symbology type affects its number of characters. The following options are available:

The PZN symbol supports an automatic check digit. This adds one modulo 11 check digit to the data that is inputted into the barcode, for a total of seven and eight digits for the PZN7 and PZN8 symbol types, respectively.
