Deleting Items

When a file is deleted from the repository, the file remains in the BarTender System Database, and can later be retrieved. "Deleted", in this context, refers to a file that cannot be modified, checked in, or checked out of the repository. Librarian specifies that the latest revision has been deleted by adding an action, Deleted. The file is removed from the Librarian user interface. Deleted files can be viewable by selecting Show Deleted Items in the View menu.

ClosedTo delete a file from the repository

  1. Browse to the directory where the file resides in the Folders pane.

  2. Select the file to remove in the Files pane.

  3. Open the Delete warning message using one of the following methods:

    • Open the context menu for the selected file, and select Delete.

    • Select Delete from the File menu.

    • Press the Delete key on your keyboard.

  4. Select OK to confirm the file deletion.
