Folders Pane |
The Folders pane is a visual representation of the directories and subdirectories in the file repository. By using the Folders pane, you can browse to a directory and then select it to display your BarTender files. You can also create new directories, which makes it easy to organize files.
This view displays all folders in the repository as a directory tree that has the Library folder as the root directory. Each subdirectory that you create can contain any number of subdirectories. Click the icon to expand a folder and show the subdirectories. Click the icon to collapse a folder and hide the subdirectories.
When you right-click the Folders pane, the context menu contains options that you can use to modify items in the Folders pane, as follows:
Add: Opens the Add File(s) dialog, which you can use to browse to and add BarTender documents or images to the file repository. The files are added to the folder that is currently selected.
Create New Folder: Adds a new folder to the directory tree. The new folder is added as a subdirectory of the currently selected folder. The default name of the new folder is "New Folder." To change the name, use one of the following methods:
Click the text one time to select it, and then enter the name that you want.
On the File menu, click Rename, and then enter the name that you want.
On the context menu, click Rename, and then enter the name that you want.
Press Enter to apply the new name.
Cut: Moves the selected folder to the Clipboard.
Copy: Copies the selected folder to the Clipboard.
Paste: Copies the most recent item on the Clipboard to the selected folder.
Rename: Renames the selected folder.
Delete: Deletes the selected folder together with all the subdirectories and files that it contains.
Properties: Displays the Properties dialog for the selected folder.
In Librarian, you can easily move files and folders by using a drag-and-drop operation. To move a folder from one directory to another, select the folder that you want to move, and then drag it to the location that you want. When you move a folder, all of its subdirectories and files are also moved to the new location in the directory tree.
