Copying and Pasting Objects

You can copy and paste an object using a "click and drag" method with your mouse or by copying the object to the clipboard and then pasting the copy to the template.

ClosedTo copy an object using the "click and drag" method

  1. Click on the desired object to select it.

  2. Hold down your keyboard's Ctrl key.

  3. While keeping the Ctrl key pressed, click and hold your primary mouse button.

  4. Drag your mouse cursor to the location on the template where you want a copy of the object to be placed.

  5. Release the mouse button.

When copying objects using the mouse, the behavior of an object's movement will vary based on whether or not BarTender's snap behavior is enabled. When a snap behavior is enabled, BarTender will automatically assist you in aligning the object based on other objects, ruler division marks, and template and data entry form grids. ClosedTo copy an object using the Clipboard method

  1. Click on the desired object to select it.

  2. Copy the object to the Windows clipboard using one of the following methods: 

    • Select the icon from the main toolbar.

    • Select Copy from the Edit menu.

    • Select Copy from the object's context menu.

  3. Paste the copy of the object from the Windows clipboard onto the template using one of the following methods: 

    • Select the icon from the main toolbar.

    • Select Paste from the Edit menu.

    • Select Paste from the object's context menu.

    • With the cursor over the location on the template where you want to place the copied object, press the secondary mouse button and select Paste from the context menu.

  4. If needed, you can adjust the object's placement on the template using one of the methods described in Moving Objects.

To copy an object to the clipboard, press Ctrl+C on your keyboard. To paste an object, press Ctrl+V.
