Moving Objects

An object can be moved by dragging it with your mouse, by entering values on the Position property page, or by using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

ClosedTo move an object using your mouse

  1. Click on the desired object to select it.

  2. Click and hold down the primary mouse button.

  3. While holding down the mouse button, drag the object to the desired new location of the template.

  4. When the object is at the desired location, release the mouse button.

When moving objects using the mouse, the behavior of an object's movement will vary based on whether or not BarTender's snap behavior is enabled. When a snap behavior is enabled, BarTender will automatically assist you in aligning the object based on other objects, ruler division marks, and template and data entry form grids. ClosedTo move an object using the Position property page

  1. Double-click on the object that you want to move to open the Object Properties dialog.

  2. Select Position from the list of property pages to display the Position property page.

  3. Enter the desired X and Y coordinates for the object's reference point, as measured from the template reference point.

  4. Click Close to close the Object Properties dialog. BarTender will move the selected object to the specified position on the template.

ClosedTo move an object using the arrow keys

  1. Click on the desired object to select it.

  2. Use the left and right arrows to move the object horizontally or the up and down arrows to move the object vertically to the desired location.
