Picture Property Page

The following options are available when you have selected Embedded Picture as your picture source:

• Get Picture From: Allows you to import a picture file into your template from your computer, scanner, or camera. When importing images from a scanner or camera, you must set up the device using the Scanner and Camera Setup dialog. This allows BarTender to communicate with the device, so that the pictures on the device are available for selection.

• Edit Picture: Opens the selected picture in your computer's default image editing program. This option is useful if there are specific changes you wish to apply to the image, such as applying advanced formatting changes not available in BarTender.

• Save Picture: Saves any changes made to the picture as a new picture file for future use.

• Apply Image Processing Permanently: Saves all picture adjustments, cropping, and effect changes as the new defaults, and saves the modified image as a new image.

Selecting Apply Image Processing Permanently locks in any changes you have made and makes them the new default settings. For this reason, Apply Image Processing Permanently should only be used once all editing has been done.

The following options are available when you have selected External Picture File as your picture source:

• Specify file name: When selected, specifies the path and file name of the desired image. BarTender will insert the image at the specified location into the template; therefore, if the original picture file changes, BarTender will update the picture displayed on the template.

• Get file name from database field: When selected, specifies the database field containing the path and/or file name of the desired image. If a path is not specified in the database, you can enter it into the Default Path field. BarTender will reference the specified database field, and print the image contained in each database record on your items.

• Get file name from data source: When selected, inserts an image based on the path and/or file name specified on the Data Sources property page. If a path is not specified in the data source, you can enter it into the Default Path field.

The following option is available when you have selected Binary Database Field as your picture source:

• Field Name: Specifies the database field containing the binary data which comprises the picture. BarTender will reference the specified database field, and print the image contained in each database record on your items.

The following options are available when you have selected Print-Time Image Capture as your picture source:

• Control: Specifies the image capture control on the data entry form which is linked to the selected picture object.

• Select Sample Picture: Allows you to select an image from your computer to show in place of the default picture on your template.

The following options are available when you have selected Encoded Picture Data as your picture source:

• Encoding: Specifies the type of code to decipher when inserting an image onto your template.

• Select Sample Picture: Allows you to select an image from your computer to convert to Base64.

The following option is available when you have selected Preview of Template as your picture source:

• Template: Allows you to select which template is displayed on the data entry form. All templates you have created for the current document are available for selection.
