A scale display control is an interactive scale that displays the weight currently applied to the scale installed on your computer. This control allows you to capture the weight returned by a physical scale and accept this as user input into the data entry form. When BarTender executes a print job, the recorded weight will be printed on the item.
The Scale Display Control Properties dialog specifies the properties of the scale display control on the data entry form. It can be accessed using one of the following methods:

In the template design area, open the Properties dialog for the object whose data will be entered at print-time. Select the desired data source. On the open property page, select the Transform tab. Select the 
icon next to Data Entry Control. In the Data Entry Control dialog, select or create a scale display control. Click Properties to open the Scale Display Control Properties dialog.

When designing the Data Entry Form, select the desired scale display control. Double-click on the control to open the Scale Display Control Properties dialog. Alternatively, you can open the context menu and select Properties.
Scale Display Property Page
The Scale Display property page allows you to setup and install a scale, define the appearance of the scale display control, and specify the scale's unit of measurement. This property page contains a preview area, which shows how the scale display control will appear on the data entry form, based on the current settings.
Scale Configuration

Scale. Defines the scale that BarTender connects to in order to receive a weight value. Select from the list of installed scales, or select New to open the Add Scale Wizard and add a new scale. Select Properties to open the Scale Properties dialog, which allows you to modify the settings of the selected scale.
Scale Control Properties

Appearance. Defines what the scale display control looks like on the data entry form. Select the icon to open the Scale Appearance dialog, which allows you to configure the appearance of the gauge and scale display control.

Weight Units. Specifies the scale's unit of measurement.

Capture stable weight automatically. When enabled, instructs BarTender to automatically record a stable weight. The variables by which BarTender determines a stable weight are defined on the Advanced tab of the Scale Properties dialog.

Print after capture. When enabled, automatically prints the document when a stable weight is recognized. This option eliminates the need to press Print on the data entry form following the capture of a stable weight.

Start Test. Determines whether BarTender can connect to the specified scale using the connection settings defined in the Scale Properties dialog.
Weighing Scale Setup. Opens the Weighing Scale Setup dialog, which allows you to configure scales that are installed on your system, and to install additional scales.
