Understanding Data Entry

When you design templates and the data for one or more objects will not be known until print-time, you can configure BarTender to display a data entry form at the start of a print job which allows you to enter the necessary data. For example, you may need to print a standard shipping label which includes the weight of a package, but the weight of the package may be not be known until print-time.

If the data you want to enter at print-time for is not the data that will actually appear on the template, but is instead data that will be used as a criterion in an SQL query, use BarTender's Query Prompt feature.
