Record Picker Control |
A record picker control is a data entry control that print operators can use to select the database records that they want to be included in the print job.
What this control looks like on the data entry form depends on its type, which you can specify on the Record Picker property page, as follows:
When you select the multiple column type, this control appears on the data entry form as a fully configurable Select Records dialog.
At print time, the control provides a context menu that print operators can use to customize the current instance of the control on the live form. The context menu appears when the print operator clicks the secondary mouse button anywhere on the control; however, some menu selections are available only when the print operator clicks within the record set area of the control. Additionally, customization options that are not selected on the Record Picker property page are unavailable on the context menu at print time.
When you select the simple cards or custom cards type, this control appears on the data entry form as multiple cards on the form, and each card displays one or more fields of data for a single database record.
You can configure the card presentation to provide options to show or hide database fields and to sort and filter based on the visible fields.
The Record Picker Properties dialog specifies the properties of a record picker control. To open this dialog, double-click the control. Alternatively, click Properties on the control's context menu.
In the Record Picker Properties dialog, you can access the following property pages from the navigation pane:
