Configuring Rows |
After you add a table or layout grid object to your template, you can customize the object by adding, moving, and deleting rows and by configuring row properties such as height and vertical alignment.

When you configure a table object, you can also specify properties for row borders and shading. For more information, refer to Configuring Borders and Shading. |

You can insert a new row into your table or layout grid object by using the object's context menu or Rows property page.
To insert a row by using the context menu
Use the secondary mouse button to click a cell in a row that is adjacent to the location in the table or layout grid where you want to insert another row.
Point to Insert, and then click New Row Above or New Row Below to insert the new row in the location that you want.
To insert a row by using the Rows property page
Open the table or layout grid Object Properties dialog. To do this, double-click the object. Alternatively, use the secondary mouse button to click the object, and then click Properties.
In the navigation pane, click Rows to display the Rows property page.
In the Rows pane, click to select an existing row, and then click to insert a new row above the row that you selected. Alternatively, select an existing row, and then click to add a new row at the bottom of the object.
You can duplicate an existing row in your table or layout grid object by using the object's context menu or Rows property page.

When you duplicate a row, a new row is inserted that has the same property settings as the currently selected row and that contains the same objects that the currently selected row contains. |
To duplicate a row by using the context menu
Use the secondary mouse button to click a cell in the row that you want to duplicate.
Point to Duplicate, and then click This Row. A duplicate row is added to the object adjacent to the row that you selected.
To duplicate a row by using the Rows property page
Open the table or layout grid Object Properties dialog. To do this, double-click the object. Alternatively, use the secondary mouse button to click the object, and then click Properties.
In the navigation pane, click Rows to display the Rows property page.
In the Rows pane, click to select the row that you want to duplicate, and then click to add the duplicate row adjacent to the row that you selected.
You can move a row up or down within your table or layout grid object by using the object's context menu or Rows property page.

When you move a row, the objects in that row are also moved. |
To move a row up or down by using the context menu
Use the secondary mouse button to click a cell in the row that you want to move.
Point to Move, and then click This Row Up or This Row Down to move the row to the location that you want.
To move a row up or down by using the Rows property page
Open the table or layout grid Object Properties dialog. To do this, double-click the object. Alternatively, use the secondary mouse button to click the object, and then click Properties.
In the navigation pane, click Rows to display the Rows property page.
In the Rows pane, click to select the row that you want to move, and then click to move the row up or to move the row down.
You can delete a row in your table or layout grid object by using the object's context menu or Rows property page.

When you delete a row, the objects in that row are also deleted. |
To delete a row by using the context menu
Use the secondary mouse button to click a cell in the row that you want to delete.
Point to Delete, and then click This Row.
To delete a row by using the Rows property page
Open the table or layout grid Object Properties dialog. To do this, double-click the object. Alternatively, use the secondary mouse button to click the object, and then click Properties.
In the navigation pane, click Rows to display the Rows property page.
In the Rows pane, click to select the row that you want to delete, and then click to delete the row.
You can set the properties for a row's height by using the mouse or the Rows property page.
To set row height by using the mouse
Point to a row border in the table or layout grid object until the cursor changes shape, and then drag the border until the two adjacent rows are the height that you want.

When you use the mouse to move a row border, the Height Mode property for the two adjacent rows is changed to Fixed if it was previously set to Auto. For more information about the Height Mode property for a row in a table or layout grid object, refer to Rows Property Page. |
To set row height by using the Rows property page
Open the table or layout grid Object Properties dialog. To do this, double-click the object. Alternatively, use the secondary mouse button to click the object, and then click Properties.
In the navigation pane, click Rows to display the Rows property page.
In the Rows pane, click to select the row that you want.
In the Row Properties pane, specify the Height Mode that you want, and then specify the properties that are related to that height mode. For more information about the available row height properties, refer to Rows Property Page.

When all rows are set to a Height Mode of Fixed, you cannot change the height of the table or layout grid object by using the mouse. However, you can change the height by using the Table property page or the Layout Grid property page. |
You can set vertical alignment for the row by using the Rows property page.
To set vertical alignment for the row by using the Rows property page
Open the table or layout grid Object Properties dialog. To do this, double-click the object. Alternatively, use the secondary mouse button to click the object, and then click Properties.
In the navigation pane, click Rows to display the Rows property page.
In the Rows pane, click to select the column that you want.
In the Row Properties pane, click Vertical Alignment, click , and then click to select Top, Center, or Bottom.
