Embedded Data |
The Embedded Data data source is the default data source for any new data-sourced object that you add to your template by using the Create menu or the object toolbar. When you use this data source, you manually enter the data that you want the object to print; that data is then saved or "embedded" in the object, and it is printed each time the object is printed.
There are also two options that you can use to add a text object that has an Embedded Data data source directly from the Toolbox. One option is to add a simple text object that has an Embedded Data data source, and the other is to add a text object that has an Embedded Data data source that is configured with a Serialization transform.

You can configure the properties of this data source by using the Data Sources property page of the Object Properties dialog. You can identify an Embedded Data data source in the navigation pane of the Object Properties dialog by the icon. For more information about the properties that you can specify for the data source, refer to Data Sources Property Page.
You can also replace an existing data source with an Embedded Data data source or add an Embedded Data data source to an object's already existing data sources. For more information about how to do this, refer to Configuring Data Sources.
