The object toolbar in the Template Design view provides you with buttons that add objects to the template.

The object toolbar in the Data Entry Form view provides you with buttons that add controls and objects to the data entry form.
Object Toolbar in Data Entry Form view
Changes the cursor to the standard pointer that is used to select objects and options.
Copies the format of the selected object and applies it to another object. For more information, refer to Copying an Object's Style.
Turns the pointer into a , which indicates that the Data Edit tool is turned on. Use the Data Edit tool to add a normal or normal wrapped text object to the template or to open the Data Edit dialog to configure a barcode or encoder object's data sources. For more information about how to add a text object to the template, refer to Adding Objects to the Template. For more information about how to use the Data Edit tool to open the Data Edit dialog, refer to Data Edit Dialog. Available only in Template Design view.

The Data Edit tool turns on automatically when you point to a text object. When the pointer turns into a , click in the object to edit the object's data source. For more information about editing an object's data sources, refer to Managing an Object's Data Sources. |
Adds a data entry control to the form. Click to select the data entry control that you want. Available only in Data Entry Form view.
Adds a barcode to the design area. Click to select the barcode that you want. Available only in Template Design view.
Adds a text object to the design area. Click to select the type of text that you want.
Adds a line to the design area.
Adds a shape to the design area. Click to select the shape that you want.
Adds a picture to the design area. Click to select the source of the picture that you want.
Adds a table object to the design area. Available only in Template Design view.
Adds a layout grid object to the design area. Available only in Template Design view.
Adds an encoder object to the design area. Click to select the encoder object that you want after you have selected a printer that supports the encoder technology that you want to use. Encoder objects include radio-frequency identification (RFID), magnetic stripe, and smart card technologies. Available only in Template Design view.
Opens the toolbar's Toolbar Options menu. By using this menu, you can access toolbar commands that may be hidden when the size of the application window does not allow for the entire toolbar to be displayed. You can also add or remove a toolbar button, as described in Adding and Removing Buttons and Commands, and open the Customize dialog for advanced toolbar customization.
