Getting Revisions

A revision is a file that was modified from an earlier version. When you use Librarian as a revision control application, you can manage changes to BarTender files and compare and/or restore revisions.

When a user checks a file into Librarian, the file is assigned a revision number. For example, when a file is first added to the repository, it is "revision 1." After the first change is made to the file, the subsequent check-in is "revision 2," and so on. Each revision is saved to the BarTender System Database along with the revision number, the timestamp, and the name of the user who made changes to the file.

You can retrieve the most recent version of a file or any previous revision from the repository and save it to your computer.
