Main View

The Navigation controls are located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and allow you to easily navigate through various directories of the Folder Navigator and Browser Window. The following icons are available:

Navigate to previous page: Returns to the previous folder.

Navigate to next page: Returns back to the next folder.

The Title bar displays the name of the current library. You can override the default title of the library using the Administrative Setup dialog.

The Search bar allows you to search the current directory for files or folders by name or keyword. To begin searching, simply click inside the Search box and begin typing the desired term. Wildcard characters, such as ? or *, can be inserted in the middle of the text string to expand your search. Results are filtered in real-time as text is entered in the search bar.

To move the cursor automatically to the Search Bar, press Ctrl+F or F3 on your keyboard.

Print Station's menus are located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. They contain commands used to configure and control your Print Station experience. The following menus are available:

• View Options: Allows you to change the size and style of icons in the Browser Window. The icon for this menu will match the icon style chosen, whether Icons or Details.

• Administrative Setup Options: Contains options for configuring Print Station, obtaining technical support, and registering your copy of Print Station. The Administrative Setup Options menu is represented by a icon.

The Browser Window allows you to navigate your libraries and select files for printing. If Show folders in browser is enabled on the General property page of the Administrative Setup dialog, you can also navigate folders within the browser window. The Browser Window displays all BarTender documents and command files located in the current folder. The selected folder is monitored for any changes, and the Browser Window will automatically update if any files are added, deleted, renamed, or otherwise updated.

If Display information when mouse pointer hovers over control in the General property page of the Administrative Setup dialog is enabled, a tooltip containing the file name and a descriptive comment associated with the item will be displayed when you hover your cursor over an item. If the item does not have a comment, the item's file type, modification date, and file size are shown.

Print Station will display only those files that the current user has permission to read. If a desired file is not displayed and it exists at the specified Folder location, check that you have the adequate permissions to read the document. You can check the user permissions of a file using the Security tab of the Windows Properties dialog. If you have Security Center installed on your computer, confirm that the current user has permission to access the file. Because different users may have differing permissions to view a file, the files that appear in the Browser Window are dynamic based on the current user.

The Folder Navigator pane allows you to navigate through the various directories and sub-directories of your library. Print Station will display the Folder navigator in one of two ways:

• If Show folder navigator is enabled in the General property page of the Administrative Setup dialog, the Folder Navigator will be presented graphically to the left of the browser window. This setting is ideal for use with touch screens.

• If Show folder navigator is disabled, you can navigate folders via the directory path displayed on the upper left-hand corner of the browser. If you have set up any custom icons for your folders, they will appear in this Folder Navigator pane.
