Scheduling Database Maintenance

Because the BarTender System Database becomes larger as more messages are logged, you should plan to archive your oldest logged information on a recurring schedule. By doing so, you optimize the BarTender System Database by freeing up additional space.

ClosedTo schedule database maintenance

  1. In Administration Console's left Navigation Pane, click System Database and expand the node.

  2. Under System Database, click Scheduled Maintenance to open the Scheduled Maintenance page.

  3. Click (check) the check box next to Enable scheduled database maintenance.

  4. Select Daily or Weekly from the Run Maintenance dropdown list to specify how often you'd like to run the scheduled maintenance.

  5. If you selected Weekly in the previous step, select the day of the week you want to run the scheduled maintenance from the Day dropdown list.

  6. Select the time of day to run the scheduled maintenance from the Time dropdown list.

  7. Using the two dropdown lists for Database Maintenance will delete records older than, specify which records are deleted from the BarTender System Database each time the maintenance task runs. The maintenance task will delete records older than the defined time interval.

  8. If you want to archive the deleted records, click (check) the check box next to Archive deleted records.

  9. When Archive deleted records has been enabled (checked), type the path and file name for the archived file into the File field, or click Browse to navigate to the location that you want to save the archived file.

  10. If desired, click (check) the check box for Append date and time to archive file.

  11. Click Apply to apply the settings. Alternatively, click OK to apply the settings and close Administration Console.
