User Permissions Page |
The User Permissions page, located within the Security node of Administration Console, allows you to define the permissions for users and group of users in your company for various actions within the BarTender Suite. The User Permissions page contains two panes, Users and Groups and Permissions.
Users and Groups
The Users and Groups pane lists all users and groups that have been added to the BarTender security setup and to which you can assign permissions.
Add: Opens the Add User or Group dialog, allowing you to select additional users and groups to assign permissions to.
Remove: Deletes the currently selected user or group from Users and Groups pane, consequently removing any permission they had been granted.
|
Once you have enabled BarTender's security settings, any Windows user or group not defined in the User Permissions page will automatically be denied access to all actions within the BarTender Suite. |
Permissions
The Permissions pane lists the applications in your BarTender Suite, along with the actions that can be restricted for each application. For each action, you can specify either Allow or Deny for the user or group currently selected in the Users and Groups pane. If neither Allow or Deny are enabled for a user, permissions are inherited from the user's group membership. If a user is not a member of a group, then the absence of a selected check box is equivalent to the Deny option being enabled.
When permission is denied, allow login override: If this check box has been enabled, when a user is denied permission to access a feature, a dialog displays requesting a login override. This allows for another user that has permissions to use the desired feature to type in their user name and password and provide one-time access to the desired feature.
For a description of the actions that you can control, see the Security Permissions List.
