About Security Storage |
In BarTender 2016, BarTender Security never overwrites a local security document with remote settings. Instead, remote settings are cached. Database and shared file caches are separate.
If the system is configured to use the BarTender System Database, BarTender will read database settings before it reads local settings. If the database settings indicate that BarTender should defer to local settings, it will read the local settings. The local setting can refer to itself, a shared file, or the BarTender System Database.
Any time that BarTender reads a remote document, it may have to fall back to the cached version. If the document does not allow the use of cached settings, BarTender will deny all security permissions.
