Database Field |
The Database Field data source type is used to read data from a wide variety of external sources, including databases, delimited text files, spreadsheets, and ODBC or OLE DB sources. Using this data source type enables you to print multiple items with different data on each item, based on the records in a database.
Because such data is usually different for every item, you can view each item as it will print using the live data navigator, located below the template. Additionally, you can view the data contained in your database using the Record Browser property page of the Database Setup dialog.
The Database Field-specific options on the Data Source tab of the Data Sources property page include:
Field Name: Specifies the field from your database that will replace the sample data for the currently specified data source.

Database Connection Setup:
Type Conversion: Opens the Type Conversion dialog, which enables you to convert data from one type to another, such as converting from a number to currency. Available after you have selected a Type from the Data Type tab.
