Available Transforms |
Transforms are methods that are used to modify (or "transform") a data source, such as serialization and truncation. You can configure these options on the Transforms tab of the Data Sources property page by clicking the icon next to the option that you want. The selection of available transforms will vary based on the selected data type.
The following transforms are available.

Suppression |

Character Filter |
Clicking opens the Character Filter dialog, where you can force the contents of a selected data source or data entry control to conform to certain rules. |
Compression |

Offset |
Clicking opens the Offset dialog, where you can apply an offset value to an object’s data source so that the data source is automatically adjusted to a new time or numeric value. |
Range Checking |
Clicking opens the Range Checking dialog, where you can specify a range of allowable dates or values that can be entered in a selected data source. |
Truncation |
Clicking opens the Truncation dialog, where you can exclude some of the contents of a database file from being read into an object on the template. |
Number of Characters |
Clicking opens the Number of Characters dialog, where you can specify how many characters can appear in the selected data source. |
Character Template |
Clicking opens the Character Template dialog, where you can add characters to the input that will format the data into a particular arrangement. |
Search and Replace: Action List |
Clicking opens the Search and Replace: Action List dialog, where you can create, modify, and test actions for the search-and-replace transform. |
VB Script |
Clicking opens the VB Script transform, where you can create Visual Basic Script as a data source for your template. |
Serialization |
Clicking opens the Serialization dialog, where you can enable and configure the serialization setup for a data source. |
Prefix and Suffix |
Clicking opens the Prefix and Suffix dialog, where you can append static text and/or control characters to either side of the selected data source. |
