Selecting a Group of Objects

The Select command, , can be used to select a group of objects. You can use this option with the Group command to combine multiple selected objects into a single group. By combining options, you can easily change the appearance and/or position of all objects in the group at one time.

To select a group of non-barcode objects, you must define a rectangle that completely encloses the desired objects. Any object that is not completely within the bounding box of the rectangle will not be selected. You only need to enclose at least 50% of barcode objects to select them.

To select a group of objects

  1. From the Edit menu, choose Select. Alternatively, click the icon on the main toolbar.

  2. On the template, place the cursor outside one of the four corners of the desired group of objects and press and hold the primary mouse button.

  3. While holding down the primary mouse button, drag the cursor from the starting corner of the group of objects to be selected to the diagonally opposite corner.

  4. Release the mouse button once all of the desired objects are within the bounding box.

To deselect selected objects

  1. Click on a blank part of the template or on an object that is not selected.

Selecting Non-Adjacent Objects

BarTender also allows you to simultaneously select non-adjacent objects. To do so, you activate the Select command and then hold down the Shift or Ctrl key as you click on each object that you want to select.

The Shift and Ctrl keys can be used in a similar manner to remove objects from a group of selected objects. After the group has been selected, hold down the Shift or Ctrl key and click each object that you want to deselect.
