Message Setup Dialog |
The Message Setup dialog, accessible from the Administer menu, displays the configuration and content of the messages used by
Reset to Defaults. Overwrites any changes and resets the messages to their default settings.

The Reset to Defaults button will restore settings to their defaults. The change will appear immediately, but doesn't actually take effect until the OK button is pressed. Pressing Cancel after pressing Reset to Defaults does not restore the default settings. |
Log Setup. Opens the Log Setup dialog, and allows you to configure what print job and message data is saved to
Alert Setup. Opens the Alert Setup dialog, which allows you to define the distribution and structure of e-mail notifications.
Message Grid
The grid at the top of the dialog lists the messages that can appear in
ID. Displays the message's unique identification number.
Severity. Identifies the message's severity level (severity increases from information, to warning, to error).
Category. Identifies the message's category, such as Licensing, Printer, or Database.
Default Response to Message. Identifies the current setting for how
Message Target(s). Identifies the places the message will appear.
Message Contents
The Message Contents section displays the content of the currently selected message from the Message Grid.
Message Target(s)
The Message Target(s) section defines where the message will appear when it is generated. The available options include:
Dialog (Interactive Use Only). Displays the message on screen, requiring user interaction.
Windows Event Log. Logs the message to the operating system's event log.
Database Log. Logs the message to the BarTender System Database. Available only if database logging has been enabled in the Log Setup dialog.
Text File Log. Records the message to a text log file. Available only if text file logging has been enabled in the Log Setup dialog.
Automation Exception (Automation Only). If

Some messages require a response, such as clicking OK or Cancel.
