The Alert Setup dialog, accessible from the Administer menu, defines the mail system used to distribute the alerting e-mail messages; additionally, you can specify who will receive alert notifications and modify the contents of the e-mail message.
Click Enable E-Mail to activate the features of this dialog.
E-mail Options
Mail System. Identifies the Mail/Messaging system that
If you select Internet Mail (SMTP), then Setup launches the Internet Mail Setup dialog.
If you select Windows Messaging (MAPI), then Setup launches the Windows Messaging Setup dialog.
To. If you are using Internet Mail (SMTP), specifies the address of one or more primary recipients for the messages (separated by semi-colons). If you are using Windows Messaging (MAPI), click the Select button to open your e-mail address book and select recipients.
Cc. If you are using Internet Mail (SMTP), specifies the address of one or more secondary recipients for the messages (separated by semi-colons). If you are using Windows Messaging (MAPI), click the Select button to open your e-mail address book and select recipients.
Output Type. Specifies the format of the notification that is sent.
Text Report. Each message section will appear as a separate line in this order: Date, Time, Message Number, Message Type, Message Category, Response to Message, and Message Body.
Tab Delimited. Message sections are separated by tabs.
Comma Delimited. Message sections are separated by commas.
Quote and Comma Delimited. Message sections are enclosed in quotation marks and separated by commas.
Send Test Message. Sends a test message, so that you can verify that the messages are received by the proper recipients in the selected output format. Available if an address is specified in the To field.
Select Messages. Displays the Select Messages dialog, which defines the messages that are recorded and generate a notification e-mail.
