SAP IDoc File

To connect to an SAP IDoc File

  1. Select Database Connection Setup from the File menu to launch the Add Database Connection Wizard. (If you have previously specified a database to use in the document, this option opens the Database Connection Setup dialog. Select Add to open the Add Database Connection Wizard.)

  2. From the initial dialog of the Add Database Connection Wizard, click Next.

  3. Select SAP Intermediate Document (IDoc) File as the Database Platform.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Select an IDoc type and an IDoc file from which to draw data to use on your items. If necessary, select Add/Remove to open the IDoc Type Definitions dialog, where you can add, modify, or remove IDoc types.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Specify the Master Segment to convert your IDoc files.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Select the fields on the IDoc from which you want to draw data. If you pick any fields on repeating segments, set the repeating segment rules using the Repeating Segment Rules dialog.

  10. Click Finish.

Once you complete the Add Database Connection Wizard, BarTender launches the Database Connection Setup dialog. In the tree view of databases, you will find the newly added database, SAP IDoc under All Databases.
