Show Start/Stop Characters |
The Show Start/Stop Characters option on the Human Readable property page enables you to specify whether or not to display the start and stop characters in the human readable characters.
It is common to refer to the start and stop characters for Code 39 (they are actually the same character) as an asterisk. Some users like them displayed in the human readable characters, while others just like the data portion of the barcode message to be displayed. The only real advantage to displaying the asterisks is that it allows for a quick, visual determination of whether or not Code 39 is in use. A user printing both Code 39 and another barcode symbology might find this feature useful.
This option is available for the following symbologies:
Circular Code 39
Codabar (NW-7)
Code 39 - Full ASCII
Code 39 - Regular
Telepen
