Markup Language Container Text Object |
By using a markup language container text object, you can use tags or code to define the layout or format of the text. When you use markup languages in BarTender, you can keep your text formatting in a database or dynamically format the contents of a text object by using VBScript.
BarTender supports the following markup languages:
Rich Text Format (RTF): RTF standardizes text formatting across many platforms. By using RTF with BarTender, you can apply advanced formatting to the content of a text object, such as changing the color of the text, adding bullets or numbering, indenting paragraphs of text, or inserting symbols.
HyperText Markup Language (HTML): Typically, HTML is used to format websites, but you can also use it to format text objects. When you do this, BarTender converts the HTML to RTF, which means that not all HTML applications and features are supported. BarTender supports only those features that are available in both HTML and RTF.
Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML): You can use XAML to create objects, format text, and lay out objects by using tags. In BarTender, you can use XAML to modify the appearance of a text object by aligning text in tables, coloring text, or adding images to a text object. When you do this, BarTender converts the XAML to RTF, which means that not all XAML applications and features are supported. BarTender supports only those features that are available in both XAML and RTF.

You can use HTML container text objects to format a text object by using HTML tags. When you create the HTML text object, you can manually enter the HTML to use for the formatting, or you can create a data source from which to obtain the HTML. In either case, you must use the HTML tags that BarTender supports.
You can use XAML container text objects to format a text object by using XAML tags. When you create the XAML text object, you can manually enter the XAML to use for the formatting, or you can create a data source from which to obtain the XAML. In either case, you must use the XAML tags that BarTender supports.
