Use the Picture property page to specify a picture to import and the method to use to import it to the or .
You can access this property page from both the and the , as follows:

In the Template Design view, access the Picture property page from the Picture Properties (templates) dialog.

In the Data Entry Form view, access the Picture property page from the Picture Properties (forms) dialog.
You use the Picture property page only to specify which image is printed on your items or appears on the . To adjust the position of the image, use the mouse or the Position property page, and to modify the image's appearance, use the other property pages in the navigation pane. Alternatively, you can click Edit Picture to modify embedded pictures by using your computer's default image editing software.

You can use BarTender to import and export a number of raster and vector formats. For a complete list of all supported formats, refer to Supported Image Formats.

The following options are available.
Picture Source
The other property options in the Picture Source area vary depending on the picture source that you select. The following picture sources are available.
The following options are available when you select Embedded Picture as your picture source:

Get Picture From: Specifies that you can import a picture file from your computer, scanner, or camera.

File: Opens the Select Picture dialog so that you can select a picture from your computer or network.

Scanner or Camera: Opens the Scanner and Camera Setup dialog. When you import images from a scanner or camera, you must first set up the device by using the Scanner and Camera Setup dialog. When you do this, BarTender can communicate with the device so that the pictures on the device are available to be selected.

Clip Art: Opens the Select Clip Art dialog.

Edit Picture: Opens the selected picture in your computer's default image editing program. This option is useful if there are specific changes that you want to apply to the image, such as advanced formatting changes that are not available in BarTender.

Save Picture: Saves any changes that are made to the picture as a new picture file for future use.

Apply Image Processing Permanently: Saves all picture adjustments, cropping, and effects changes as the new defaults, and then saves the modified image as a new image.

When you click Apply Image Processing Permanently, any changes that you made are locked in and become the new default settings. Therefore, we recommend that you use the Apply Image Processing Permanently option only after all editing is done.

The following options are available when you select External Picture File as your picture source:

Specify file name: Specifies the path and file name of the image that you want. BarTender adds the image at the specified location on the template or form. Then, if the original picture file changes, BarTender automatically updates the picture that is displayed on the template or form.

Get file name from database field: Specifies the database field that includes the path and/or file name of the image that you want. If a path is not specified in the database, you can enter it in the Default Path field. BarTender references the specified database field and prints the image that is contained in each database record on your items.

Get file name from data source: Adds an image that is based on the path and/or file name that is specified on the Data Sources property page. If a path is not specified in the , you can enter it in the Default Path field.
The following option is available when you select Binary Database Field as your picture source:
The following options are available when you select Data Entry Control as your picture source:

Control: Displays the on the data entry form, including image , list box, and dropdown list box , that can be linked to the selected picture object. Use this list to select the control that you want.

Select Sample Picture: Specifies that you can select an image from your computer to show instead of the default picture on your template.
The following options are available when you select Encoded Picture Data as your picture source:
