Test Action Dialog |
Use the Test Action dialog to view and edit the variables that input data into the action and to test the action. To open this dialog, use one of the following methods:
In the Test view, click an action in the Process pane, and then click Test Actionon the Test tab ribbon.
In either the Create view or the Test view, right-click the action in the Process pane, and then click Test Action.
The dialog displays the variables that are available to input data into the action. You can edit the values for these variables, delete variables, and create new variables.
The dialog displays the following information:
Name: Displays the name of the action that you are testing.
Status: Displays the status of the tested action, such as "Completed" or "Failed." Displayed after you click Test Action.
Test action using variable inputs from: Lists the variables that are available to input data into the action. Displayed when you first open the Test Action dialog and when you click Back after you test the action.
The dialog contains a toolbar that provides the following options:
: Undoes the previous action.
: Redoes the previously undone action.
: Updates the variable values to the values from the most recent event.
: Opens the Save File dialog so that you can save the variable settings for the action to a sample file.
: Opens the Open File dialog so that you can import a sample file.
Add: Adds a new variable.
You can use the following methods to edit the list of available variables:
Double-click a variable name or value to edit the name or value.
Point to or click in the Value field to display the Edit variable value icon. Click this icon to open the Value for dialog, which provides additional tools for editing the variable value.
Point to or click in the Value field to display the Delete icon, and then click the icon to delete the variable.
Right-click a variable name or value to display the following options:
Add new sample variable: Adds a new variable to the list.
Copy: Copies the selected variable to the Clipboard.
Cut: Cuts the selected variable and places it on the Clipboard.
Paste: Pastes the variable from the Clipboard to the list to create a copy of the original variable.
Delete: Deletes the selected variable.
At the bottom of the dialog, the following controls are provided:
Test Action: Runs the test.
Back: Displays the variables list. Available after you click Test Action.
Close: Closes the Test Action dialog.
After you click Test Action, the following tabs are displayed.
