Document Encryption Page |
Use the Document Encryption page, which you can access from the Security node of Administration Console, to add and delete encryption keys, specify automatic encryption when you save documents, and access the BarTender Document Encryptor dialog.
This page includes a pane that lists the available encryption key names, the date on which they were created, and any comments. For security, the keys themselves are not displayed.
The following options are available:
Add: Opens the Add Document Encryption Key dialog, where you can create and name a new encryption key and enter an optional comment.
Delete: Deletes the selected encryption key.
|
If you delete a key that was used to encrypt a document, you can no longer use that document. Before you delete the encryption key, either remove encryption from the affected document or change the document's encryption key. |
Properties: Opens the Document Encryption Key dialog, where you can view the name and key for the selected encryption key and modify the comment. To view the encryption key in the Document Encryption Key dialog, click and hold the icon.
Encrypt documents when saving: Specifies that any time a document is saved, it is encrypted by using the specified encryption key.
Encryption Key Name: Specifies the name of the encryption key that you want to use for automatic encryption when documents are saved. Available when Encrypt documents when saving is selected.
Document Encryptor: Opens the BarTender Document Encryptor dialog, where you can assign encryption keys to existing documents, change encryption keys for documents, and remove encryption from documents.
