Types of Objects |
BarTender supports several different types of objects to help you design your template. Some, like line and shape objects, are easy to add to your template and customizations are as basic as changing its color or line thickness.
Use a barcode object to place a barcode on the template that can be read by a barcode reader when it is printed.
Use a text object to place text or a text symbol on the template. BarTender supports many different types of text objects, including normal, normal wrapped (paragraph), and transformed text objects. More complex text objects are also supported and include a word processor text object that you can use to create Rich Text Format (RTF), symbol font characters text objects that you can use to insert industry-specific symbols, and markup language containers that support the RTF, HTML, and XAML markup languages.
Use a line object to draw a line anywhere on the template, in any direction.
Use a shape object to place a predefined shape on the template. You can choose from a provided selection of different shapes or use a combination of shape objects, perhaps in combination with line objects, to create your own unique shape on the template.
Use a picture object to place an image onto the template.
Use the table and layout grid objects to position other template objects within a table or grid format, with rows and columns that are resized automatically in response to the size and presence of the objects that are contained within the cells. You can also use the table object to create a dynamic table format to contain data from a connected database, where the table automatically creates the number of rows that are needed at print time to equal the number of records to print.
You can use an encoder object to place RFID, magnetic stripe, and smart card technologies onto your template.
You can use a watermark object to place a watermark version of a barcode symbol or other object onto the background of your template so that your data is encoded over the entire background surface of your printed items but is hidden.
