Item Usage Dialog |
After you load an inventory item into a printer (by dragging the item from the Inventory pane to the printer that you want in the Printers pane), you can use the Item Usage dialog to modify the usage settings for the item.
To open this dialog, click the Printer icon at the top of the Information pane, expand the node for the inventory item that you want, and then click Usage in the Actions row.
The following options are available:
Item: Displays the currently selected item. Read-only.
Printer: Displays the currently selected printer. Read-only.
Printer Usage
Estimated Maximum: Specifies a new estimated maximum for the item if this value is different from the value that is configured on the Usage tab of the Item Properties dialog.
<Units> Remaining: Specifies the amount of the inventory item that remains. This setting can be useful when you return a partially used item to the printer. The <Units> value depends on the usage tracking method that you specified for the item on the Usage tab of the Item Properties dialog.
Low Level (Yellow)
Low Level: Specifies the threshold at which an item's inventory level is considered to be low. Units vary depending on the usage tracking method that you select for the item. Items that reach the low-level threshold are indicated by a yellow bar on the Printers pane.
Alert when level reached: Specifies that a notification is sent when the low-level threshold is reached. This alert is displayed in the Events pane and can also be used to trigger an email message or other type of alert by using the Event Settings dialog.
Critical Level (Red)
Critical Level: Specifies the threshold at which an item's inventory level is considered to be critical. Units vary depending on the usage tracking method that you select for the item. Items that reach the critical-level threshold are indicated by a red bar on the Printers pane.
Alert when level reached: Specifies that a notification is sent when the critical-level threshold is reached. This alert is displayed in the Events pane and can also be used to trigger an email message or other type of alert by using the Event Settings dialog.
Remind every [X] days: Sends a reminder message at the specified interval when the quantity of the item in inventory reaches the critical-level threshold.
