Arrange Menu

Although you can quickly use a drag-and-drop operation to organize and position objects on a template or data entry form, you may sometimes need more advanced control over the layout of the objects. The Arrange menu provides that advanced level of control.

Template Design View

Order: Opens a submenu that you can use to move an object in front of or behind other objects that overlap it, as follows:

Move to Front: Moves the object to the front (on top) of all of the other objects on the template.
Send to Back: Moves the object to the back of (below) all of the other objects on the template.
Bring Forward: Moves the selected object in front of the object that is currently immediately in front (on top) of it.
Send Backward: Moves the selected object behind the object that is currently immediately behind (below) it.

Move to Layer: Opens a submenu that you can use to move the selected object to the layer of your choice. For more information, refer to Using Layers.

Group: Combines two or more objects into a single group so that you can simultaneously position or modify all the objects in the group. Available when two or more objects are selected on your template.
Ungroup: Breaks apart a group of combined objects. Available when you select an object that is already a member of an existing group.

Align: Organizes selected objects into rows or columns and adjusts the horizontal and vertical spacing between objects.
Rotate: Rotates individual objects and groups of objects on the template.
Duplicate: Opens the Duplicate dialog, where you can specify the following:

How many copies you want to be made of the selected objects
The locations on the template where you want the copies to be placed relative to the original object

Scale: Opens the Scale dialog, where you can specify the options for resizing (scaling) the selected objects on the template.

Lock: Locks the selected objects so that they cannot be moved, resized, or rotated.
Unlock: Unlocks the selected objects so that they can again be moved, resized, or rotated.

Data Entry Form View

Order: Opens a submenu that you can use to move an object in front of or behind any data entry controls or objects that overlap it, as follows:

Move to Front: Moves the object to the front (on top) of all of the other objects and controls on the form.
Send to Back: Moves the object to the back of (below) all of the other objects and controls on the form.
Bring Forward: Moves the selected object in front of the object that is currently immediately in front (on top) of it.
Send Backward: Moves the selected object behind the object that is currently immediately behind (below) it.
