Cell Alignment Property Page

Use the Cell Alignment property page to configure the alignment of a cell within a table or layout grid object. This property page is available in the Object Properties dialog for any object that you have placed in a cell and replaces the Position property page for the object.

The Cell Alignment property page is also available in the Table Properties dialog and the Layout Grid Properties dialog, when you open the dialog after selecting one or more cells in the table or layout grid object.

The following options are available.

Alignment

Alignment: Specifies the alignment of the object within the cell. To use the vertical alignment that is specified for the row on the Rows property page and the horizontal alignment that is specified for the column on the Columns property page, select Default.
Top Padding: Specifies the top padding of the object within the cell.
Bottom Padding: Specifies the bottom padding of the object within the cell.
Left Padding: Specifies the left padding of the object within the cell.
Right Padding: Specifies the right padding of the object within the cell.

Padding values default to 0.02 inches and are typically positive values, but you can use negative values. When you specify negative padding values, the object is clipped to fit in the cell.

Resize objects to fit cell when possible: Specifies that BarTender manages the size of the object in the cell under the following conditions:
- Text objects that use auto-fit or picture objects that use "fit to rectangle" or "stretch to rectangle" use the size of the cell as the fit rectangle.
- Text objects that use wrapping use the size of the cell to determine the wrap width.

When you manually resize an object in a cell, this setting is turned off.

Rotation

Angle: Specifies the degrees by which the object should be rotated within the cell. Select a commonly used degree from the list, or specify the rotation angle to a tenth of a degree. Object rotation is cumulative with the rotation of the table or layout grid. When you rotate an object 90 degrees within a cell and then rotate the table or layout grid itself 90 degrees, the object is displayed at 180 degrees rotation. Available after you add an object to the cell.

Span

Row Span: Specifies the number of rows that the object can span.
Column Span: Specifies the number of columns that the object can span.
