Use the Licensing page of Administration Console to view and manage your licenses and license servers and to activate new licenses. This page lists all the activated licenses and the license servers that are or were running the BarTender Licensing Service. You can also use this page to activate new licenses, add new license servers, and grant access to the other license servers in a backup or triad redundancy relationship.
The Licensing page includes the following sections.
The license list table provides the status of and detailed information about the activated licenses. This information includes the BarTender edition that the license is associated with, the number of printers that the license supports, and the last version of BarTender whose release date is covered by the maintenance agreement.
To manage licenses, right-click a license, and then click one of the following options:
Activate a new License: Starts the BarTender Licensing wizard, which you can use to enter one or more product key codes to activate a new BarTender license.
Deactivate License: Starts the BarTender Licensing wizard, which you can use to deactivate the selected license.
Move License: Opens the Move License dialog so that you can specify a server and/or printer pool to move the selected license to.
Refresh License: Directs the license server to get the latest license status from the activation server.
Switch to This License: Specifies that the selected license becomes the new current license that the local installation of BarTender will use.
The license list section includes the following option:
Activate a new License: Starts the BarTender Licensing wizard, which you can use to enter one or more product key codes to activate a new BarTender license.
The License Servers section lists the status of and detailed information about all the servers that are or were running the BarTender Licensing Service.
The following options are available:
: Opens the Restart Licensing Service dialog so that you can restart the BarTender Licensing Service on the selected license server. You can choose to restart it on a different port or restore it to the default port setting. Available for servers that are currently running.
: Deletes the selected server that is not currently running from the list.
Add a new license server: Opens the Add License Server dialog so that you can add a new license server to the list.
Hide servers with no activated Licenses: Specifies that servers that do not have an activated license are not displayed in the list.
To manage the license servers, right-click a server, and then click one of the following options:
Add a new License Server: Opens the Add License Server dialog so that you can connect manually to a server that is not automatically discovered. After you connect to the server, it is added to the list.
Delete License Server: Deletes the selected server that is not currently running from the list.
Restart License Server on a new port: Opens the Restart Licensing Service dialog so that you can restart the selected license server. You can choose to restart it on a different port or restore it to the default port setting. Available only for the local license server.
Reload data from License Server immediately: Reloads the data from the selected license server so that Administration Console displays the most current data.
Export license list: Opens the Export License List dialog so that you can save the list of licenses that are hosted by the selected server.
The This License Server section lists the access control rules for the local license server and provides options for creating, editing, and deleting rules.
The following options are available when you click Server Access:
Add a new rule: Opens the Access Control Rule dialog, which you can use to create a new access control rule for the local license server.
Use this option when you want to grant the local server access to the other servers in a backup or triad redundancy relationship. For more information about the license server redundancy feature, refer to Redundancy Page.
: Opens the Access Control Rule dialog so that you can edit the selected rule.
: Deletes the selected rule from the list.
To manage the access control rules, right-click a rule, and then click one of the following options:
Add a new rule: Opens the Access Control Rule dialog, which you can use to create a new access control rule for the local license server.
Delete the selected rule: Deletes the selected rule.
Edit the selected rule: Opens the Access Control Rule dialog so that you can edit the selected rule.
Hide access control rules: Hides the list of rules.
