Tabs Overview |
The Workflow Designer interface includes a ribbon that has tabs that display options that you can use to create and manage your workflows. The following tabs are available.
Use the Administration tab to save, print, import, or export your workflows. The following options are available:
Save: Saves the workflow file. If the file is new and was not previously saved, the Save Workflow dialog is displayed when you click this option.
Save As: Opens the Save as Workflow dialog so that you can save the workflow file by using a different name.
Print: Opens the Print dialog so that you can print the workflow.
Print preview: Displays a preview of the workflow as it will be printed.
Import: Opens the Open dialog so that you can select a workflow file to import.
Export: Opens the Save As dialog so that you can save the workflow file to be exported.
Exit and return to workflow setup: Closes the Workflow Designer and returns you to the Librarian Setup page in Administration Console.
Use the Home tab to access the design canvas so that you can add objects to your workflow and configure their properties.
To add a state or approval state object, click the object that you want on the ribbon, and then click the location on the design canvas where you want to place the object. After you create the object, you can resize it and move it by using the sizing handles.
To add a transition object, click the transition object on the ribbon, point to the first state or approval state object that you want to connect it to until the sizing handle appears, drag the transition object to the second state or approval state object that you want to connect it to until the sizing handle appears, and then drop the transition object.
The following options are available:
Selection: Changes the cursor to a pointer so that you can create, move, and edit objects.
State: Adds a state object to the design canvas and displays the State properties pane.
Approval: Adds an approval state object to the design canvas and displays the Approval State properties pane. By default, the approval state object includes two transition objects that are named Approve and Reject.
Transition: Adds a transition object to the design canvas and displays the Transition properties pane.
Text: Adds a text box object to the design canvas and displays the Text properties pane.
Paste: Pastes the cut or copied object from the Clipboard.
Cut: Cuts the selected object and places it on the Clipboard.
Copy: Copies the selected object and places it on the Clipboard.
Validate Workflow: Runs a verification check for the workflow. If there are errors, a message is displayed that describes the errors so that you can fix them.

Use the Format tab to change the appearance of a state or approval state object. This tab is displayed when a state or approval state object is selected on the design canvas.
