Selecting a Custom Color |
For greater precision in selecting your custom color, you can set the red, green, and blue (RGB) color values that define the color, and further customize the color by setting its hue, saturation, and/or luminosity.
Hue: Specifies the tone of the color, based on where is exists on the color wheel. Changing the hue value changes the actual color selected, and you will note that the color selection indicator in the color palette moves as you change the hue value.
Saturation: Specifies the intensity of the hue, from gray tone (no saturation of the hue), to pure, vivid color (high saturation of the hue). As with hue, changing the saturation value moves the color selection indicator in the color palette, as the actual color is being changed by the saturation value.
Luminosity: Specifies the lightness or darkness of the color selected, from black (no lightness) to white (full lightness). Changing the luminosity value does not change your color selection on the color palette, just the light or dark appearance of that color.

In some instances, you can only access the Color dialog for a particular property from the property page itself. For example, if you want to select a custom color for a text object's border, you must do this from the Border property page of the Text Properties dialog. |
