Tab Order Property Page

Use the Tab Order property page to define the tab order for the data entry form controls, meaning the order in which print operators move from one control to another by pressing the Tab key on the keyboard. To access this property page, click Tab Order in the navigation pane of the Form Properties dialog.

The Tab Order area displays a list of the data entry controls in the order in which they are selected when the print operator presses the Tab key, according to the option that is selected in the Tab Order list.

The list of data entry controls does not include controls for which the Exclude control from tab order option is selected. You can configure this option on the control's Data Entry property page.

Tab Order

Specifies the tab order for controls on the form as follows:

Left to Right, then Top to Bottom: Specifies that when the data entry form is first displayed, BarTender selects the control in the upper left corner of the form. As the print operator presses Tab, the object directly to the right of the object is selected. If no object is on the right, then the object directly below the initial object is selected.
Top to Bottom, then Left to Right: Specifies that when the data entry form is first displayed, BarTender selects the control in the upper left corner of the form. As the print operator presses Tab, the object directly below the initial object is selected. If no object is below, then the object to the right of the initial object is selected.
Right to Left, then Top to Bottom: Specifies that when the data entry form is first displayed, BarTender selects the control in the upper right corner of the form. As the print operator presses Tab, the object directly to the left of the object is selected. If no object is on the left, then the object directly below the initial object is selected.
Top to Bottom, then Right to Left: Specifies that when the data entry form is first displayed, BarTender selects the control in the upper right corner of the form. As the print operator presses Tab, the object directly below the initial object is selected. If no object is below, then the object to the left of the initial object is selected.
Manually Specified: Specifies that you can manually specify the tab order by sorting the list of controls into the order that you want. By using this option, you can select a control in the list and then use the and icons to move the control up or down in the list.
